'On the Farm' Workshop
In this workshop you’ll find out about all the animals on the farm and what the farmer does all day long. Using a mixture of hands-on activities, games, songs and the wonderful book ‘Old McDonald has a Farm’, you’ll learn the Doric names of all the farmer's animals and maybe a few other words as well. You'll have the opportunity to make a puppet or a mask and join in with making up your own tale.

In this workshop you’ll explore what people wear. You'll learn the Doric words for all kinds of clothes and what they look like. Using a mixture of hands-on activities, games, songs and stories you'll think about the clothes people wear for different jobs or special occasions. You'll have the opportunity to dress up, design your own outfit and join in with creating a song.

Create a Book – Aul McDonald Goes to the Zoo
In this fun and creative workshop, we’ll take Aul McDonald on an exciting adventure to the zoo! Using the picture book Aul McDonald His A Fairm as inspiration, we’ll explore Aul McDonald’s character and how he interacts with the animals on his farm. Then, we’ll use our imagination to think about how he might interact with the animals at the zoo.
Target Audience: P4 and upwards
Participants will create their own 8-page bound book, writing and illustrating the story of Aul McDonald at the zoo. Aul McDonald gets up to all sorts of silly activities, and you’ll have the chance to bring these moments to life with your drawings and words!
We’ll provide all the book-making equipment, along with demonstrations on how to illustrate your story. Plus, we’ll supply Doric Dictionaries and word banks to support writing in Doric, as well as one-on-one assistance throughout the session.
This workshop is a great opportunity for creativity, storytelling, and learning how to write in Doric while having lots of fun!

How to Draw Emotions – Mastering Emotional Expression in Character Design
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover rare tips and techniques for illustrating your character's emotions with precision and clarity. Led by published illustrator Aaron Gale, this session will guide you through the process of altering facial expressions and body language to reflect a wide range of feelings.
Target Audience: P4-Adults
